ANOTHER BRADY WIN

QB opens up about filming ‘plain me’ in docu-series ‘Tom vs. Time’

It looks like Tom Brady has assisted in yet another win, as “Tom vs. Time” scored a Sports Emmy for Serialized Sports Documentary on Monday night. And, although Brady deemed the filming experience “worth it,” he also just revealed that the prospect of making the online series was initially “nerve-racking” for him.

“This was so outside of the things I have always done and I wasn’t sure if we could pull it off,” Brady shared on social media. “The reality was, before filming began and even during filming, it was on and off again at least 5 times. There were a lot of moving parts on all sides and it took a lot of work at every level to pull it together and have it ready for viewing 16 months ago.”

“Tom vs. Time,” created by Gotham Chopra and released last year, followed the quarterback great over the course of the 2017-18 season. Its six episodes gave fans an inside glimpse into the then-fivetime Super Bowl Champ’s life off-field, his holistic approach to getting game-ready and the emotional rollercoaster ride he endured throughout the season, including its end with the Patriots’ devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LII.

“The Patriots had an amazing season of many highs and lows that added humanity to the story,” Brady also wrote on Tuesday. “And it was so much fun to have my family and friends and all the people who support me be a part of it.”

“I couldn’t have been happier with the final product and people getting to see another side of me besides what most people see every Sunday,” he continued. “I can be a very focused and driven person on the field (and off too), but as most of my friends and teammates know, what you saw is just plain me.”

“Tom vs. Time,” which folks can still catch on Facebook Watch, took home the Emmy win after going up against some serious competition in its category. Channeling the GOAT’s champion energy, it managed to beat out “Being Serena,” “All or Nothing: Manchester City,” “All or Nothing: A Season with the Dallas Cowboys” and “All Access: Quest for the Stanley Cup.”

“I can’t thank you enough for going on the journey with me,” Brady wrote. “You all have made it all worth it, and to win an Emmy highlights the incredible work of everyone involved.”
