Swartwood goal perfect for Cohasset

Whit Swartwood struck for the game-winner with 18 minutes left as Cohasset (5-0) edged Carver, 2-1, in a South Shore League boys soccer clash of unbeatens yesterday. Jack Elliot also scored for the Skippers.

Bobby Molloy registered two goals, while Derek Nuttal pitched a shutout as Abington (2-3) rolled to a 4-0 victory over Mashpee.

Cam Corsino registered a hat trick to lead Matignon (4-1) to a 7-1 win over Cristo Rey in a Catholic Central Small battle.

Joe Larosa found twine twice as West Bridgewate­r (6-0) doubled up Bishop Connolly, 4-2 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference.

Luke Saia had all three goals as Pembroke (3-2-1) topped Plymouth North, 3-1 in a Patriot League affair.

In a Middlesex League matchup, Ryan Clarke notched the lone tally late in the first half, propelling Wilmington (1-4) to a 1-0 win over Burlington.

Girls soccer

Maddy Rostad had the game’s lone goal and Addie Condon notched her second shutout of the year for Hamilton-Wenham (2-2-2) in a 1-0 win over Georgetown in the Cape Ann League.

Golf

Robbie Forti shot a 1-over 37 on the day, as St. John’s Prep (6-0) knocked off the reigning Div. 1 champion, Xaverian, 233-239 in a Catholic Conference showdown.

Abington (4-2-1) got a 37 from Colin McDonald and a 38 from Connor Buckey in a 154½-143½ victory over Cohasset in South Shore League play.

Field hockey

Kyleigh Williams and Sydney Gallagher both tallied goals, adding an assist apiece to propel Fairhaven (2-4) to a 2-1 victory over South Coast Conference rival Case.

A Grace Morey goal stood up as the winner for Bishop Fenwick (5-0) in a 1-0 nonleague victroy over Bishop Feehan.

Girls volleyball

Setter Angie Grabmeier did a little of everything for Hopkinton (5-0) in a 3-0 win over Tri-Valley League foe Norwood, recording 15 assists, five kills, five aces and five digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Mia Beradino racked up 13 kills and 10 digs for Triton (2-4) in a 3-0 win over Cape Ann League opponent Pentucket.

In the South Coast Conference, Alyssa Storm finished the evening with 29 assists, leading Case (5-1) to a 3-0 sweep of Somerset Berkley.

Junior Jamie Bordonaro had 28 digs and senior Brooklyn Manna struck for 10 kills in a 3-1 win for Woburn (3-2) over Middlesex League foe Arlington.
