PROCEEDINGS JUST A KANGAROO COURT

Dems’ attempt at impeachment withers

- Grace CURLEY

If you’ve been following the latest impeachment hearings closely, well, pour yourself a strong one. You’ve earned it.

The liberal roundtables at CNN and MSNBC were so unenthused by the Democrats that their best spin was that the first day’s hearing, “didn’t move the needle.”

Translation? The Dems bombed bigger than Michael Moore’s last movie.

The second day wasn’t much better. The Dems dragged in ousted U.S. Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch Friday as just another prop for this farce. But remember she’s a woman and must be believed even if she was fired two months before the phone call at the center of this drama.

The circus, headed up by Framingham’s own Adam Schiff, has been compared to a kangaroo court. But that is an insult to marsupials who at the very least can throw a punch.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent and acting

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor opened up the hearings on Wednesday.

Tip for Schiff and his rabid base: Next time you pick “star” witnesses, ask them if they have ever met the president.

But that wasn’t even the most egregious part of the first day.

Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, caught everyone’s attention right from the start when he interrupted the Republicans after a mere 10 minutes of questioning.

It makes sense that Schiff, who also serves as the president of the Orange-Man-Bad Club, wanted to slow down the Republicans. They were off to a notably stronger start than their opposition.

So Adam interjected and explained to Taylor that he need not answer questions that assumed “facts not in evidence.”

This might not have garnered such an explosive reaction had the Republicans not just sat through 45 minutes of the Democrats’ leading and partisan questions.

U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe warned Schiff that this sudden shift wouldn’t fly.

“If it is your position that I should be inserting objections to questions that violate the federal rules of evidence, let me know now, because this hearing is going to change significantly.”

No one should be surprised that Schiff pulled this move. It is the moonbat mantra: When you’re unhappy with the game, simply change the rules.

While the Dems can spout off questions with no evidence ad nauseam,

the Republicans’ inquiries are expected to meet a much higher standard.

Additionally, Schiff ’s interruption was ludicrous because like Ratcliffe went on to explain, the hearing is not in a court of law.

But it did get me thinking.

If the Democrats were to construct their own legal system, what would it look like? Based on everything from the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings to Russiagate — it would be ominously Kafkaesque.

But why go back that far? We could establish the rules of Pelosi’s Courtroom by observing the last month alone.

1. You do not have a right to face your accuser.

2.Guilty until proven innocent.

3. Criticism is now “intimidation.” President Trump tweeted out Friday morning a number of observations, including the fact that he has the power under the Constitution to hire and fire ambassadors. The woke Illuminati on MSNBC and CNN went crazy, claiming he was “intimidating” the witness.

And lest we forget the best new rule brought to us courtesy of U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.).

4. Hearsay is golden. Turns out hearsay has been getting a bum rap in jurisprudence over the last few centuries. But in the words of Tony the Tiger, it’s not just good — it’s great!

“I think the American public needs to be reminded that countless people have been convicted on hearsay because the courts have routinely allowed and created needed exceptions to hearsay. Hearsay can be much better evidence than direct.” The more you know. This new judicial system will probably lead to a lot of false accusations, frame-jobs, etc. But at least Adam Schiff will have more time to show off his parody sketches!
