Dems impeach first, seek evidence later

- Peter LUCAS

Impeachment is like Obamacare.

You have to pass it before you find out what’s in it.

That is what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the leader in the Democratic “Dump Trump” movement, said in 2010 when the U.S. House voted to approve Obamacare, a 2,000-page document that nobody read, then or now.

She said, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it.”

So, they did, just like Pelosi and the Democrats are now doing with the impeachment of President Trump.

They must impeach him to find out what he did wrong, if anything. And if they find that he did not commit any impeachable “high crime or misdemeanor,” they are going to impeach him anyway. It is a search and destroy mission.

There is little in the July 25 transcript that Trump made public of his phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that is criminal, let alone impeachable.

People can read the transcript and draw their own conclusions.

But it does not matter. Democrats were determined to impeach Trump the day he got elected in 2016. Extremely disappointed that the Robert Mueller report did not come through for them, they are now searching for something, anything to savage him with.

So far they have come up empty, and are forced to make it up as they go along, one leak at a time from U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, who unfortunately has become the face of Pelosi’s impeachment movement.

Yet, Schiff is the perfect choice to lead the impeachment charade. He lied repeatedly for months about having evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians in the last election.

Schiff hid the fact that his staff met with the mysterious whistleblower before the whistleblower filed his complaint against Trump, a collusion that may have helped shape the whistleblower’s complaint. At Wednesday’s hearing he claimed he did not even know who the whistleblower was, which no one believes.

Schiff previously shredded his credibility when he read his own phony version of Trump’s phone call remarks at his previous committee hearing on the matter. Called on his bizarre action, Schiff said it was a parody.

Another problem is that even if Trump is impeached by the House on a strictly partisan vote, it must then go to the Senate for trial. Given the makeup of the Republican-controlled Senate, there is no way the Senate will vote to remove Trump from office.

Trump’s political future will be decided by the voters, not Pelosi.

Pelosi is like a hateful prosecutor who decides to prosecute a person on shaky charges while knowing the judge will throw the case out or that the jury will not convict. So, what’s the point?

The point of these Democrat-controlled hearings is to damage Trump so much that even one of the second or third string bench warmers the Democrats have running for president can defeat Trump for re-election one year from now.

If anyone is going to be tarnished in the coming weeks and months, it is going to be all the Obamaappointed CIA and FBI hacks who conspired to stop Trump from becoming president or who organized in an attempted coup against him.

The soon to be released report of Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is expected to outline FBI abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by FBI agents who obtained warrants to spy on the Trump campaign based on phony documents.

In addition, U.S. Attorney John Durham is conducting a criminal investigation into the CIA/FBI decision to launch a probe into Trump-Russian collusion, which was a hoax.

Horowitz’s report and Durham’s investigation into the investigators is bad news for the Democrats, and it goes back to Saint Barack.

Even when Trump is castigated in a formal House impeachment document, there is no way Pelosi and the Democrats can do much more to him. And Trump is still standing. In fact, the partisan impeachment of Trump may be a key to his re-election.

Meanwhile, the stock market is hitting new highs and the economy is booming. Wages are up and unemployment is down. A trade deal with China is in the works. North Korea has been temporarily subdued. NATO members are paying up. ISIS terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead. Ukraine got its aid. Hunter Biden got rich.

So, let’s impeach the president.
