- By STEFAN GELLER

The funeral for Worcester Fire Lt. Jason Menard will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, 44 Temple St., following a private family procession from the funeral home.

Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church, according to the Worcester Fire Department. Following the funeral, Menard will be buried at St. John’s Cemetery on Cambridge Street.

For those wishing to see Menard prior to the funeral, calling hours will be held today at the Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation St., from 3 to 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in making a donation to Menard’s family can do so through several options: NYC’s Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation (tunnel 2towers.org) launched a mortgage fund for the family; the Greg Hill Foundation created a donation page — thegreghillfoundation.org/ donations/menard — that as of 5 p.m. Saturday has raised over $180,000; and the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts Foundation set up the Menard Children’s Fund.

“For those who would like to help his family and honor the sacrifice Lt. Jason Menard has made for others, donations are now being accepted through the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts Foundation,” Worcester Fire Fighters Local 1009 wrote on Facebook. “100% of the donations collected will go directly to Jason’s family.”

Donations can be made at PFFMFoundation.org, and people can mail donations to Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie St., Worcester, MA 01605.

Checks should be made out to: PFFM Foundation care of The Menard Children’s Fund.

According to the WFD, the Boston Bruins Foundation will also honor the memory of Menard by donating the proceeds of their 50/50 raffle Saturday night to his family fund.
