Something for EVeryone at Hub auto show

Electric vehicles are front and center at this year’s fully packed exhibition

Electric vehicles are all the craze at this year’s New England International Auto Show.

Beginning today, enthusiasts can compare all of their needs or wants in the transportation category of their choice. Be it side-by-side, spec-to-spec or just a plain old appearance comparison, there’s something for every type of automotive fan this weekend at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, with even more vehicles on tap than last year.

Every auto manufacturer on hand will showcase almost their entire vehicle lineup, and some will roll out new models as the show progresses.

Manufacturers on display this year include: Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, McLaren, Nissan, Ram, Rolls-Royce, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen.

The much anticipated C8 Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mach-E — both “must-see” — will also grace the floor.

From lightened frames — such as with the new 2020 Ford Escape to the 2021 Toyota Mirai, the first

hydrogen fuel-cell EV — to concept cars, there are tons of things to see and experience. Showgoers and prospective buyers are free to open the doors, sit in the cars, sample the options and check out the engine compartments as the vehicles will be on display and manufacturer’s staff will be on hand to answer every one of your questions.

The ever popular “Ride & Drive” event is back, providing consumers the opportunity to experience first-hand the vehicles they are strongly considering, or are in the mood for testing. This year the Ride & Drive event is led by Toyota and Volkswagen — make sure to stop by and get your complimentary gift.

For enthusiasts who enjoy an adrenaline rush, stop on over to the Super Car Speedway, where a massive collection of exotic vehicles from makers such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and McLaren will be on display; values exceed the $5,000,000 threshold — a lot of motor for the money.

A little muscle car action will be on display as well. Classics such as a 1964 Cobra and 1957 Corvette will be sure to take you back to when noise was OK and power was cool.

The Seaport’s Boston Convention & Exhibition Center hosts the event again, with doors opening today from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at bostonautoshow.com. Admission is $17 for adults, $7 for children 6 to 12 and free for children under 6.

Show hours are noon to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
