Son, 21, sent for Bridgewater eval after parents’ slaying
A Middleboro 21-year-old has been sent to Bridgewater State Hospital for evaluation after being accused of murdering his parents in their home.
Ryan True was arraigned on two counts of murder Friday. He pleaded not guilty in Wareham District Court.
Police reported his parents, Renee True, 55, and David True, 52, were found stabbed in separate rooms in their Highland Street home.
“Inside the home, police observed reddish brown stains in several areas of the home,” the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office reported.
“A male victim was found deceased in a downstairs office, and a female victim was found deceased in a second floor bedroom. The victims had visible trauma and both had been stabbed numerous times,” the DA added.
Renee True was a bus driver for special needs students.
“Renee was a hard working and dedicated employee,” Middleboro Superintendent of Schools Brian Lynch said in a statement. “It was clearly evident that she cared about every child she transported every day. She will be greatly missed by our transportation department and our entire school community.”
David True worked at an Eastham-based paving and excavation company where condolences were posted on the Facebook page.
“He was a great guy with a huge heart,” one wrote.
“We at Dirtworks are heartbroken over the sudden and tragic loss of one of our own. David True was truly one of the best men we have had the privilege of knowing,” the company added.
As the Herald reported Friday, police officers responded at 6:30 a.m. Thursday to 3 Highland St. after a person did not show up to work. The officers found a dead male and female inside the home.
Police launched an investigation and quickly found the young suspect. Police arrested Ryan True without incident.
Ryan True is due back in court Jan. 4.
