Five fugitives join most-wanted list
Staties looking for ‘most violent and dangerous’
State Police have added five fugitives to their most-wanted list, calling them some of the “most violent and dangerous” suspects on the lam.
“These suspects are all wanted for either murder, attempted murder, or rape, and they have been chosen for the most-wanted list because they are among the most violent and dangerous criminals we are seeking,” Col. Christopher Mason said Thursday.
“They have killed, raped or assaulted people before,” Mason said. “We cannot give them the chance to do so again.”
The five fugitives are:
Mario R. Garcia, 49, who is wanted in connection with the Nov. 16, 1991, fatal stabbing of Ismael Garcia in Attleboro.
Alexander Keen Grant, 49, who is wanted in connection with a 2012 sexual assault in Yarmouth, where he gave alcohol to a girl and then assaulted her while she was intoxicated, police said.
Wesly Jordan Alcin, 23, who is accused of armed assault with intent to murder, home invasion and gun crimes in connection with the Jan. 24 shootings of a man and a woman in Salem, police said. The woman was shot nine times, and the man was shot three times. Both survived.
Jeffrey Cancel-Muniz, 40, who is wanted on charges of aggravated rape, kidnapping and strangulation in connection with an assault in Greenfield last May.
Marvin A. Veiga Jr., 32, who is wanted for allegedly killing Manuel Duarte with a shot to the head in Brockton in October, police said.
State Police urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section at 1-800-KAPTURE (1-800-5278873).
