O’Connell won the EMISCA state cup in the 100-backstroke while also placing third in the 200-IM. The two-time AllScholastic won the 100-butterfly last year and placed second in the 200-IM at the Div. 2 states. The two-time Catholic Central League MVP is a member of the National Honor Society.
