Antisemitism

Regarding Jeff Robbins “New Israeli leaders confront inane U.S. left,” June 7, American Jews are overwhelmingly liberal and, more than that, many take great pride in supporting political positions that are often inimical to their interests as Jews. But even this political allegiance caused dismay when some Democrats in the House of Representatives voiced anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli opinions, proudly and unabashedly. These are among the best and brightest of our bigots and while often wrong, they are rarely in doubt.

As antisemitism begins to shade the proud Democratic Party of yore, the elders of this liberal fellowship have a responsibility to stem this latest spasm of antisemitism before the hatred becomes genocidal, especially to Jews in Israel.
