American railway cars

With all the money being thrown around by the Biden administration, wouldn’t you think that some should be used to create jobs for manufacturing railway cars? Our own MBTA signed up for an $800 million deal with the Chinese Railway Rolling Stock Corp. L.A. is launching a $647 million dollar deal with the same company. Lydia Rivera, spokesperson for CRRC, states, “It’s a rail-car maker and there are no U.S. rail-car companies.” Why not, I ask. Whether it is manufacturing solar panels, railway cars, lithium batteries for electric cars, it appears that America is asleep at the switch.
