BC on AI’s starters:

-

QB: Lamar Jackson. Solid choice, especially since he adds a major element with his running ability. There will be rushing yards and TDs available with the season-ending injury to JK Dobbins. The dual-threat QB is why I took Kyler Murray, but I grabbed him maybe a little early, 50th overall, the third QB taken overall. Your decision to go without a backup is risky. Yes, there will be free-agent guys out there, but I took Matt Stafford in the 12th round so I’d have a solid replacement or trade chip if I needed one.

RB: Dalvin Cook, David Montgomery. Love Cook, and especially love you handcuffed Alexander Mattison to him. Very smart. Now, you know how some guys you form an opinion of and it takes a whole lot to make you come off of that? That’s how I am with Montgomery. I think he is very average, would not draft, and just name me a dominating Bears offensive player? I can’t think of many since Walter Payton. Maybe Neal Anderson. Montgomery went 29th overall in our draft. Crazy. You’ll be better off playing Damien Harris.

WR: DK Metcalf, Justin Jefferson .I mean, Metcalf is an animal. Love that guy. And I’m straight trolling right now but ... didn’t the Patriots take N’Keal Harry and another guy when they could’ve had DK? (Yes, they did.) Jefferson is great, too. But he plays in Minnesota and my concern is that Kirk Cousins is awful. I kinda liked the Vikings as a kid ... Joe Kapp, Fran Tarkenton, the Purple People Eaters, Bud Grant (you have no idea who those guys are, do you?) ... but Cousins is just trash. I have Mattison as a Lotto ticket in case anything happens to Cook, but I otherwise don’t want any part of Minnesota.

TE: Robert Tonyan. You must have looked up in the 9th round and saw him still available. Last year was a fluke, things regress to the mean, look for 50 catches and 4 TDs from this guy this year.

FLEX: Robby Anderson. All three of your bench WRs will have better years.

D: Micah Parsons. Having individual defensive players is unstable.

D/ST: Patriots. Generally D doesn’t matter; I’ll just stream them. But the Pats are pretty good, or should be.

K: Jason Sanders. Ditto kickers. I try and take one who won’t have weather issues. Miami’s schedule looks pretty good though.

BENCH: Damien Harris, James Conner, Alexander Mattison, DeVonta Smith, Antonio Brown, Michael Gallup, Mike Gesicki. I took Conner, Mattison, AB and Gallup too. Wanted Harris. Your bench, to me at least, seems really solid. At least two of those dudes will be regulars for you at some point.

OK, I have to kick things off by defending my team name. Our draft was the Sunday before Cam was cut, so my team has now been dubbed “Keeping up with the Jones.”

So now that we’ve cleared that up… let’s talk teams.

Your critique of my team was reasonable. My TE is the only part of my squad that I’m not crazy about. I opted to put more stock in both my starter and bench receiver depth — since this league is full PPR.

Alright, let’s get down to business.
