Victim ID’d in Brockton slay

Mayor Sullivan ‘confident’ an arrest will be made

The 16-year-old who was shot and killed at a Brockton party early Saturday morning has been identified by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

Liedson Monteiro-Terry, of Brockton, was the victim in the fatal shooting, the Plymouth DA’s Office announced on Sunday.

“The investigat­ion is active and ongoing by Massachuse­tts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Brockton Police,” a spokespers­on for the DA’s Office said in a statement.

At about 1:39 a.m. Saturday, State Police troopers were contacted by Brockton Police about a fatal shooting at 40 Sprague Ave. A large party had taken place at that address, according to witnesses.

When police arrived, MonteiroTe­rry was pronounced dead at the scene.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his surviving loved ones,” Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan said in a statement. “It is an active police matter and I am confident that an arrest will be made.”
