Victim ID’d in Brockton slay
Mayor Sullivan ‘confident’ an arrest will be made
The 16-year-old who was shot and killed at a Brockton party early Saturday morning has been identified by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
Liedson Monteiro-Terry, of Brockton, was the victim in the fatal shooting, the Plymouth DA’s Office announced on Sunday.
“The investigation is active and ongoing by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Brockton Police,” a spokesperson for the DA’s Office said in a statement.
At about 1:39 a.m. Saturday, State Police troopers were contacted by Brockton Police about a fatal shooting at 40 Sprague Ave. A large party had taken place at that address, according to witnesses.
When police arrived, MonteiroTerry was pronounced dead at the scene.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and his surviving loved ones,” Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan said in a statement. “It is an active police matter and I am confident that an arrest will be made.”
