Zoom gets glitchy for opening arguments
Zoom bombed at the start of the first “Varsity Blues” trial.
The defendants had appealed to the judge to cut video access — a pandemic addition to federal court proceedings — but that wasn’t the reason. It was simply an “IT” issue.
The scores of those who logged in for a video view of the case were met with a garbled opening by the prosecution. Even Suffolk DA Rachael Rollins, nominated by President Biden to fill the U.S. Attorney spot at the court, complained in the chat room.
“Cannot hear a thing,” she wrote. It was fixed in time for opening statements by the defense.
