WATERTOWN — The Watertown field hockey team isn’t messing around.

Behind its normal recipe of scoring through its offensive nucleus of Boston University commit Maggie Driscoll, Lizzie Loftus and Molly Driscoll, the undefeated No. 4 Raiders contributed toward another dominant start Tuesday night by beating Middlesex League contender Belmont 6-0 for an eighth straight win. They controlled possession and kept the Marauders (4-4) on their heels the majority of the way, also leading to an eighth straight shutout.

All six goals came in the first half, highlighted by Taylor Lambo slamming home a hat trick around the cage. Maggie Driscoll scored and dished an assist, while Molly Driscoll racked up three assists and Loftus added a goal herself.

Both Maggie Driscoll and Loftus are well-aware of the fact the team hasn’t allowed a goal all year in a now 48-0 goal differential and are very proud of it.

But they’re also well-aware of the heights this program aspires to — something that head coach Eileen Donahue even reminded the team of after the game by extensively talking about ways to improve.

So no, Watertown isn’t messing around. But Driscoll, Loftus and the team are stoked to aspire for that success and contribute toward the legacy of the program.

“I think it’s really amazing, all of the accomplishments of the program in the past,” Loftus said. “I think that honoring that in every single practice and trying to work off of that is what we think about. … We just try to remember the people before us to try to build.”

Loftus got the scoring going within the first five minutes on a penalty corner, which was quickly followed by a tip-in from Lambo for a 2-0 lead. Allie Fijux finished in traffic in front of the net near the end of the first quarter, all before Lambo followed in the second quarter with two more goals from short distance.

Watertown limited Belmont to just two shots in the game. By the time
