CNN fires Cuomo

- By Joe Dwinell

CNN has pulled the plug on Chris Cuomo.

The left-leaning cable channel announced Saturday evening they have fired the host who just couldn’t keep his nose out of his brother’s sexual harassment business.

CNN announced on its site that “Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.

“While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light,” CNN’s statement added. “Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate.”

It all boiled over this past week when New York Attorney General Letitia James revealed that Chris Cuomo was assisting his brother, former Empire State Gov. Andrew Cuomo, with his harassment case deeper than first reported.

“This is not how I want my time at CNN to end,” Cuomo said, in part, on Twitter.

CNN did not divulge what the “additional” details are.

The Associated Press reported that as women came forward accusing Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, Chris pressed sources for information on the accusers and reported back to the governor’s staff on what he was learning.

That’s while hosting his “Cuomo Prime Time” show and declaring he was an unsullied journalist.

He was active in helping craft their response to the charges, according to emails and a transcript of his testimony to investigators working for state Attorney General Letitia James. Her office found Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed at least 11 women.
