BARRETT, Edmond F.,

73, a life long resident of South Boston, passed away at home on December 21, 2021. Eddie was the beloved

son of the late William H. Barrett,

and Mary M. (Hogan) Barrett of South Boston. Devoted husband of Susan Barrett for 41 years, loving father of Patrick W. Barrett and his girl friend Allison Dick loving brother of William H. Barrett, and his wife Elaine, his sister, Cheryl A.Price , and her husband, Donald, all of South Boston, and the late Elaine M. McSweeney, and her husband, Robert (Macca) of Holbrook, and DeniseA. and Carol A. Barrett, of South Boston. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Eddie was a proud graduate of South Boston High School Class of 1967. He worked in the meat packing industry at Fulton Packing Company for many years. When Fulton closed, he moved on to Cambridge Packing Company, from where he retired in 2014. He was a die hard Red Sox fan, and could answer any questions about them. He followed all of the Boston Teams, especially the Patriots , but also enjoyed watching any, and all football games, and golf tournaments. Playing cards with family, and friends, listening to Oldies, playing Jeopardy, watching old movies, and his favorite TV shows brought him joy. Eddie loved his family dearly, enjoyed spending time with them, and reminiscing at his home, and on his deck. Eddie was a quiet guy who never said a bad word about anyone. Visitation in the O’Brien Funeral Home 146 Dorchester St South Boston on Saturday May 7th from 10:3011:30am. Followed by a Crlebration of Life at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eddie’s memory to the South Boston Boys and Girls Club, where many of his happy childhood memories were made.
