The Div. 1 All-State champion in cross country, Burgess soared to new heights indoors with a scintillating 8:58 at the New England Championships. Only a junior, the state 2-mile champion has clocked 4:20 in the mile and 14:41 over 5000 meters. Burgess was sixth in the 2-mile and third in the 5000 respectively at the New Balance Nationals.
