An 84-year-old wheelchair bound man was punched and robbed at an MBTA Roxbury station Monday afternoon, according to police who have arrested a 25-year-old Boston woman.

Transit Police officers tracked down the suspect, Malina Stacy, and arrested her in connection with the incident.

She has been charged with unarmed robbery, and assault and battery on an elderly person.

The alleged assault and robbery happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday at MBTA’s Nubian Square station.

The 84-year-old wheelchair bound man was approached by Stacy, who asked the victim to give her some money, police said.

“When the victim informed Stacy he did not have money to give her she responded by closed fisted striking him in the face and head and removing money from the victim’s jacket pocket,” police said in a statement.

Stacy then fled into the station and boarded an MBTA bus, police said.

Witnesses flagged down Transit Police officers, who boarded the bus and removed Stacy.

The officers recovered the victim’s money from her.

Stacy was placed into custody, and transported to Transit Police headquarters for the arrest booking process.
