Ferreira nets 400th win at Nantucket

Willis Ferreira earned his 400th career victory as a coach for Nantucket (girls and boys programs) in a 4948 Cape and Islands League boys basketball win over Dennis-Yarmouth. … Josh Lake dropped 20 points, while Ryan Koster tacked on 14 points as Martha’s Vineyard coasted to a 74-25 win against Monomoy.

Andy Batista buried 21 points and came away with four steals, and Jayden Welch and Cesar Reyes had 12 points apiece for Lynn Tech (14-3) in a 65-55 Commonweal­th Athletic Conference win over Innovation. … Jaden Aleman sank six 3-pointers en route to 31 points, lifting Minuteman to an 80-57 win over Fellowship.

Luke Rinaldi sounded off for 28 points, and Mason Melchionda and Luke Spellman finished with 10 points each, guiding Dover-Sherborn (11-3) in a 71-51 Tri-Valley League win over Bellingham.

Girls basketball

Alyvia Pena and Savanna Scali each dialed up 17 points to help Burlington top Melrose 53-40 in Middlesex League action. … Emma Shinney poured in 21 points and Emma Quinn added 15 points for Wakefield in a 60-38 win over Stoneham.

Elliana Scalabrine erupted for a career-high 30 points to power Dover-Sherborn (13-4) to a 58-22 Tri-Valley League win over Bellingham. … Arianna Katzman’s 15 points proved enough for Westwood to hold on for a 43-27 win over Holliston.

Annie Brosnan registered 14 points as Minuteman topped Fellowship 50-32 in Commonweal­th Athletic Conference action. … Catherine Antwi thrived on both ends, scoring 27 points and swiped seven steals for Lowell Catholic (8-5) in a 64-41 win over Shawsheen. … Kendra O’Brien (14 points) and Emily Sandelli (12 points) each cracked double figures to help Greater Lowell (12-2) past Whittier 53-52.

Hannah Martin’s shot with 2.3 seconds left proved to be the game-winner, helping her match Sydney Rogers’ 18 points as North Andover edged Central Catholic 50-48 in Merrimack Valley Conference play.
