With Biden in charge, Taiwan should fear China takeover

- Peter Lucas is a veteran Massachusetts political reporter and columnist.

President Joe Biden’s delayed reaction to the Chinese surveillance balloon that openly crossed the U.S. gathering intelligence will only embolden a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

If Biden could not stop a Chinese spy balloon until it had traversed the country for a week, there is no way he will stop the expansionist Chinese from annexing Taiwan by force.

And when it happens — not if, but when — it will come while Biden is still president. Otherwise, the Chinese could face a more formidable president when Biden is history, hopefully sooner rather than later.

And the way China operates, the invasion will be launched before Biden even knows what happened. Like everything else, Biden is the last to know.

Beijing has Biden’s number. XI Jinping and the fellow leaders of the Chinese Communist Party have contributed to the riches of Biden and his family.

And to the average American it seems that there is nothing China cannot buy, whether it is the NBA, Hollywood, the media, colleges, businessmen, farmland, generals, politicians, whatever.

China knows Biden to be a compromised and weak leader who cut and ran in Afghanistan, costing 13 American troops their lives, and leaving thousands of allies behind.

They know how he has taken a once energy-independent nation and turned it into a country begging the Saudis and Venezuelans for oil while throwing thousands of Americans out of work.

They know him to be so reckless and cavalier in his approach to our southern border that millions of unvetted illegal immigrants, including criminals and terrorists, have crossed under his watch, while Americans are forced to deal with the fallout from his disastrous policy.

China knows that there is no leader in the western world, except Biden, who would allow vast quantities of fentanyl into their country from China via open borders.

Not only has Biden allowed China to flood the country with Chinese-produced fentanyl in collusion with the Mexican cartels, he has enabled thousands of Chinese nationals to enter the country illegally as well.

China expert and author Gordon Chang said the wave of illegal immigrants from mainland China crossing the order was a “perfect opportunity” for the Chinese Communist Party to smuggle in agents.

Border Patrol apprehensions of Chinese nationals crossing illegally into the U.S. rose more than 800% compared to the same period during the last fiscal year, according to Custom and Border Patrol officials.

They reported 1,862 Border

Patrol encounters with Chinese nationals — mostly men in their 20s and 30s, compared to 229 during the same period the prior year.

Many of these Chinese nationals claim hardship and seek asylum. They are subsequently released into the U.S. on their own recognizance and given a notice to a eventually appear in court for an immigration hearing.

“Out southern border is undefended and there are bad actors coming in,” Chang told Fox News. “We need to get control of the situation.”

Not to worry. Joe is in charge.
