St. Seb’s (22-0) tops Lawrence Academy

In the Independen­t School League, Jaylen Harrell scored 19, Trevor Mullin added 16 as Sam Hinman and AJ Dybantsa each had 11 as St. Sebastian’s (22-0) took down Lawrence Academy 83-54, in boys basketball action.

Landon Cayton finished with 24 points as Case outlasted Bishop Connolly 64-56 in a nonleague matchup.

Tyler Staiti struck for 30 points in a 69-57 win for Abington (9-11) over Oliver Ames, to claim the Don Byron Memorial Basketball Classic title.

Girls basketball

In Mayflower action, Leah Sylvain finished with 13 points and eight steals while Korynne Holden added 15 points and four steals to lead Westport to a 44-14 win over Avon.

Junior Bridget Devine notched eight points and six blocks as Blue Hills (17-2) defeated Upper Cape 36-19.

Junior captain Cecilia Kay collected 30 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and four steals as Bishop Fenwick (126) won 48-37 over nonleague opponent Winthrop.

Boys hockey

In nonleague action, Jacob Almeida tallied two goals and two assists as Diman edged Greater New Bedford 3-2. … Lincoln Hennessy had a hat trick as Quincy defeated Southeaste­rn/Bristol-Plymouth 7-4.

Kevin Arthur completed the hat trick with the game-winner in overtime as Medfield outlasted Hopkiton 4-3 in TriValley League play.

In the Bay State Conference, Noah Albright (two goals, three assists) and Brendan Peck (two goals, two assists) led the way as Framingham won 7-1 over Newton North.

Girls hockey

Jen Birolini netted a hat trick as Pembroke upended Hanover 5-3 in Patriot League play.

In a nonleague game, Ela Rabidoux tied it, Ivorie Arguin scored the game winner and Felix Goeckel stopped 31 shots to lead Pope Francis to a 2-1 win over Billerica/Chelmsford. …

Bree Lawrence scored a shorthande­d goal with 12 seconds left in overtime to lift Methuen/Tewksbury past Lincoln-Sudbury, 3-2. The Red Rangers trailed 2-0 before goals by MJ Petisce and Emma Giordano.
