HAGGERTY, Eileen B. Age 96 of West Roxbury, formerly of Jamaica Plain, Eileen Haggerty passed away surrounded with the love, care and comfort of her entire family on February 20, 2023. She was born to the late George and Bertha Buote on January 23, 1927. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Haggerty. She was the devoted mother to six children and survived by Carol Rourke and her husband Jack of Natick, Bill Haggerty and his wife Chris of Yarmouth Port, Diane Fahey and her late husband Darrell of Raynham, Dan Haggerty and his wife Nancy of Needham, Patty MacDonald and her husband Dan of Rockland, and Ginny Benway and her husband Joe of Hanover. She was the dear sister of the late Arnold and the late Ursula Buote, the late Edwin Buote and Verna Buote, the late Leonard and the late Millie Buote, the late Allan Buote and Maryann Buote and the late Doris and the late Dick Horrigan.

Eileen was the devoted “Grammy” to thirteen grandchild­ren, Colleen Westbrooks, Darrell Fahey, Amy Banister, Diana Longden, Erin Ryerson, Ryan Haggerty, Daniel Haggerty, Meredith Broughton, Lindsay Pinske, Julie Benway, Courtney MacDonald, Jillian Benway, and Aidan Benway. She also greatly cherished her fifteen great-grandchild­ren, Mason, Jack, Willie, Ellie, Parker, Charlie, Loretta, Brianna, Andy, Kit, Emma, Lyla, Adeline, Mary Elizabeth and Arlo. Eileen is also survived by many much loved nieces and nephews and cousins. She had that gift of making each one feel so special.

During her lifetime, Eileen worked at several jobs including Western Union and data entry for the medical industry. She was also employed by the Boston Public Schools. Her favorite and most important job was caring for and loving her six children, their friends and her large extended family. There was always room for more people to love in her world. Eileen enjoyed many varied activities from crocheting, swimming and the beach, singing and listening to Irish music, bingo, playing games, doing puzzles and especially making friends. Visiting Hours on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 4-8 in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 28th, at Saint John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St., West Roxbury, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Edelweiss Village community. Eileen truly enjoyed the past several years making many friends and participat­ing in the varied activities in a safe, happy haven for her.
