BruCe W. Swim, lifelong resident of WinChester, died on WednesdAy, MAy 17, 2023, his 72nd BirthdAy. Born in WinChester on MAy 17, 1951, BruCe wAs one of two Children of the lAte Merrill C. And AgAthA (Popoff) Swim. He grAduAted from WinChester High SChool ClAss of 1971 And Attended College in Denver, ColorAdo. Growing up on Fells RoAd, BruCe developed A love for the Middlesex Fells ReservAtio­n, espeCiAlly its three reservoirs. He Also took greAt interest in WinChester history And residentiA­l ArChiteCtu­re, And CrAfted unique hAnd-Cut pAper CollAges, whiCh Adorned his home And delighted his fAmily. For mAny yeArs, BruCe worked for two prominent loCAl lAndsCApin­g CompAnies. He enjoyed wAtChing the PAtriots, Red Sox, And the SundAy Afternoon PGA golf tournAment with his Brother, ChuCk. BruCe’s fAmily would like to thAnk the mAnAgement And stAff of the VNA Senior CAre FACility in Somerville for its wArm fAmily Atmosphere in whiCh BruCe thrived. Also, mAny thAnks to the CourtyArd Nursing CAre Center in Medford for the wonderful CAre they provided under diffiCult CirCumstAn­Ces After BruCe suffered A deBilitAti­ng stroke in FeBruAry.
