Francis Thomas Reynolds died on his 84th birthday the first of June, 2023 after a short illness. Frank was born at Malden Hospital. He was the son of Dr. Edward J. Reynolds, who was originally from Bellows Falls, Vermont and Regina (McGunigle) Reynolds, who was originally from East Boston. Frank met the love of his life, Mary Droney, in 1959 when she attended the Malden Catholic graduation of his brother, Eddie. Mary Droney pursued him relentless­ly for two years and finally wore him down. They married on July 6, 1963. Frank graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1957 and from Boston College in 1962. After graduation, Frank enrolled in the Marine Corps. He went to Quantico in Virginia for OCS, where he was selected for Flight Training. Next he went to Meridian, Mississipp­i, for Flight Training, and later to Pensacola where he became Carrier qualified. In Vietnam, Frank flew a huge helicopter, the Deuce, which transporte­d troops into battle and transporte­d wounded out to the hospital ship. After Vietnam, Frank worked full time while attending Suffolk Law School nights. After Law School, Frank joined a private practice with Richard Keshian of Arlington which was the start of a partnershi­p as well as a friendship. Frank is survived by his wife, Mary (Droney), daughters, Ann Letendre (Jeff) of Reading, and Alice Casey (John) of Medford. He leaves four heart-broken granddaugh­ters: Maura Letendre (22), Shannon Letendre (19), Anna Casey (18), and Rebecca Casey (15). He was our Best-Beloved! Frank leaves his dear brother, Dr. Edward J. Reynolds and Eddie’s wife Martha (Tribble) as well as their four children, Mark Reynolds (Frank’s Godson), Dr. Sara Petruska, Bee Melchiano, and David Reynolds. He is also survived by his close friend and ski-buddy Leo Peters who was the husband of Mary’s cousin, the late Joan Peters, and their four daughters, husbands, and grandchild­ren. The Reynolds family wants to extend a special thanks to all of the medical staff of Ellison 6 and Lunder 8 at MGH including but not limited to nurses: Teresa, Vanuza, Sara, Jake, Morgan, Lexieand Larrie and Father Elias Ojomah of the MGH Chaplaincy staff. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday, June 12th at 8:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectful­ly invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, June 11th, from 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
