2023 SPRING ALL-SCHOLASTICS

ANNA AFFOLTER NEWBURYPORT

The Cape Ann League Player of the Year was crucial in helping topseeded Newburyport cap a fantastic season with a Div. 3 state championship. She buried 55 goals and dished out 33 assists, and also went on to win 157 draws. The senior collected 58 ground balls as well, and was an Eastern Mass. First-Team All-Star. The two-time member of the National Honor Society graduated with High Honors. She will play lacrosse at Holy Cross next.

KEIRA BAGLIO ACTON-BOXBORO

With a tendency to bounce between the attack and midfield positions, Baglio netted 63 goals and 20 assists. She corralled 51 ground balls, and forced 23 turnovers during the spring. Baglio has spent time as a volunteer youth and as a club lacrosse coach with Mass Elite, and is an honor roll student. She will play lacrosse at Bryant University.

JULIA BARBATO READING

On top of netting 37 goals and 31 assists, she won 73 draw controls, and was named to the Middlesex League All-Conference Team. She also was named to the EMGLCA Second Team as well. A three-sport athlete, Barbato was also a two-time Middlesex League All-Star for soccer and indoor track and field at Reading. The recent graduate will be continuing her lacrosse career up at St. Michael’s.

TARA BATTAGLINO WELLESLEY

The freshman standout accumulated an even 100 points on the season, 70 goals and 30 assists. The rising star was a consistent threat when it came to draw controls, emerging victorious in 68 of her matchups. She was the Bay State Conference (Carey Division) MVP, and an EMGLCA All-Star member. Battaglino is an honor roll student, and enjoys playing the guitar and reading.

ALEX BLAKE MEDFIELD

The Northwestern commit sniped 79 goals and tallied 42 assists. Oh, and she went on to win 103 draw controls while collecting 53 ground balls. The senior played a vital role in guiding Medfield to the Div. 3 semifinals.

KELLY BLAKE MEDFIELD

Blake tallied 110 goals and added 60 assists, collected 168 draw controls, and was chosen as the Tri-Valley League’s Most Valuable Player. The soon-to-be senior already has registered 447 career points (287 goals, 160 assists). A two-time member of the U-16 Women’s Lacrosse National Team and a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American, Blake is already committed to Boston College.

DEIRDRE BROWN WAYLAND

Brown scored 62 times this spring while adding 25 assists, and was a USA Lacrosse All-American. The senior won 96 draw controls and added 49 ground balls, as Wayland made the Div. 2 state championship game. Brown was a Dual County League All-Star in field hockey and swimming. She is looking to continue playing lacrosse at American University while studying Communications and Marketing.

KAITLYN CARNEY FRANKLIN

The Johns Hopkins commit had 68 goals, 43 assists and 101 draw controls. The senior also dominated on the field hockey circuit, finishing as the school’s all-time leading scorer. However, she has opted to stick with lacrosse when she heads off to college.

EMERSON CLARK MASCONOMET

Clark was named the Northeastern Conference’s Player of the Year after erupting for 108 goals and 49 assists this past spring. She helped Masconomet to the Div. 2 quarterfinals and was an EMGLCA Second-Team All-Star. Academically, Clark served as Class Secretary, and graduated with Honors. She plans on studying Nursing at Endicott College while participating with the school’s Lacrosse team.

AVA CONNAUGHTON WESTWOOD

Connaughton finished with 55 goals and 38 assists this past campaign, and was a Tri-Valley League All-Star, an All-American and to the EMGLCA’s First Team. The senior ends her career as a two-time Div. 1 state champion with 153 goals and 220 assists overall. The National Honor Society member will play lacrosse and study business at UMass-Amherst.

EMMA CONNERTY NOTRE DAME (HINGHAM)

Connerty sniped 63 goals and dished out 23 assists in 2023 as Notre Dame went undefeated and won the Div. 2 state title. The sophomore also collected 106 draw controls and 40 ground balls, earning USA Lacrosse All-American in the process Connerty was also named an EMGLCA First-Team All-Star.

PAIGE CURRAN FOXBORO

Curran finished the 2023 season with 85 goals and 49 assists, and was named an Eastern Mass. All-Star, as well as a Hockomock League All-Star. The senior captain was one of the catalysts for Foxboro during its journey to the Div. 3 Final Four. She’s an Academic All-American and has been on the Honor Roll since her first days of high school. Also a member of the Laxachusetts club lacrosse program, the senior will attend Stonehill College, where she will play lacrosse while studying Criminology.

LUCY DAVIS LINCOLN-SUDBURY

Lincoln-Sudbury’s Div. 1 title is the first state championship for the program since 1988. Davis scored 45 goals and added 18 assists before suffering a seasonending knee injury. The team captain was named a USA Lacrosse All-American and a USA Lacrosse All-Academic winner. Davis boasts a 3.8 G.P.A.. She will join her older sister Caroline at the University of Michigan, where the two siblings will continue to play lacrosse.

MEGAN DOYLE WEYMOUTH

Already verbally committed to Yale for lacrosse, Doyle enjoyed a breakout junior season with over 100 goals, and was selected as a USA Lacrosse All-American and an EMGLCA First-Team All-Star. Doyle plays basketball for the Wildcats, and is a recipient of the Dartmouth Book Award, and a Scholar Wall and Leadership Inductee. She enjoys studying finance and health during her spare time, and plays with the Boston Laxachusetts club program.

KERRI FINNERAN CENTRAL CATHOLIC

Finneran registered 79 goals and accumulated 128 draw controls for the Div. 1 quarterfinalists. She also collected 28 ground balls, 11 assists, and caused 17 turnovers. The sophomore was named to a EMGLCA Second-Team All-Star. Finneran is also a field hockey team captain. She is undecided on her collegiate plans.

ASHTON FLATHER IPSWICH

Flather was the Cape Ann League (Baker) Player of the Year after turning in 185 saves this spring. She finished with a save percentage of 60% en route to the Div. 4 finals. The USA Lacrosse All-American and All-Academic selection received the Harvard Book Award during her high school career, and was the mechanical lead and drive coach of Ipswich High’s first robotics team (5,459). Flather is headed to MIT next, where she plans on studying Aerospace Engineering.

HARPER FRIEDHOLM LINCOLN-SUDBURY

After scoring 36 goals and dishing out 34 assists, Friedholm was an Eastern Mass. Second-Team All-Star. The midfielder was the winner of the Citizenship Award and is a two-time Dual County League girls hockey MVP. She is committed to Cornell, where she will continue to play lacrosse.

KIRA FULTON COHASSET

The senior midfielder was the South Shore League’s Player of the Year after sniping 66 goals and dishing out 37 assists. She won 121 draw controls, and collected 110 ground balls while forcing 55 caused turnovers. Fulton holds the single-season draw control record for Cohasset’s girls lacrosse program (175), and is an AP Scholar Award as well. She will be attending Hobart and William Smith Colleges for a lacrosse stint in her next chapter.

TESSA GEDDES WINCHESTER

The Middlesex League (Liberty Division) MVP erupted for 113 goals and finished with 31 assists in 2023. She registered 107 draw controls to go with 34 caused turnovers as well. She was named a US Lacrosse All-American for a second time, and a Middlesex League All-Star for the third instance. The three-sport athlete holds school indoor track & field school records in the 300 and 600-meter dashes and represented the Raiders at the National Indoor Championship in the 60, 200 and 400-meter dashes, as well as the long jump each of the past two years. Geddes is committed to playing lacrosse at Boston University.

MIA GUARINI DOVER-SHERBORN

During the school’s latest run to a Div. 4 championship (a 10-9 victory over top-ranked Ipswich last June), Guarini racked up 132 points (81 goals, 51 assists), and added 46 draw controls. The senior attackman was the Tri-Valley League (Small) MVP. A member of the EMGLCA All-Star roster (Second-Team), Guarini has committed to the University of North Carolina (Charlotte).

LILLIAN HANCOCK WESTWOOD

Hancock finished with 64 goals and tallied 101 draw controls, helping Westwood reach the Div. 1 title game for the third straight season. The senior midfielder added 34 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers, in addition to registering 12 assists. She was a Tri-Valley League All-Star for a second time, and an EMGLCA First-Team All-Star. A USA Lacrosse All-American, Hancock is committed to playing at UMass, where she will study business.

RILEY HARRINGTON WESTWOOD

The Dartmouth commit finished with 110 saves, good enough to be named a US Lacrosse All-American and a Tri-Valley League All-Star. The senior goaltender was also an Eastern Mass. First-Team All-Star. Harrington participated on the school committee as a student representative and was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society.

JANE HILSABECK NOTRE DAME (HINGHAM)

Hilsabeck buried 65 goals and tacked on 31 assists, while adding 40 ground balls and 36 caused turnovers. The midfielder was named a US Lacrosse All-American and an EMGLCA First-Team AllStar, each for the second time. With one year of high school eligibility remaining, Hilsabeck has already committed to Clemson for lacrosse.

ALEXA KENNEY NOTRE DAME (HINGHAM)

Kenney had 66 goals and 22 assists in 2023, helping to provide another scoring option for a vaunted Notre Dame (Hingham) squad. She also recorded 21 ground balls, and was named an EMGCLA First-Team All-Star. The senior attackman is a two-time member of both the National Honor Society, as well as the National Spanish Honor Society. A member of the Mass Elite club team, Kenney is committed to playing lacrosse at Boston College.

BAILEY LOWER NANTUCKET

The junior dominated opponents with her electrifying ability to find the cage (115 goals, 82 assists), finishing with a stunning 197 points on the year and 406 on her career. The Cape and Islands League (Atlantic) MVP, 2023 US Lacrosse All-American, and EMGLCA First-Team All-Star is verbally committed to Vanderbilt.

MADDIE MCDONALD NORWELL

The senior attackman was a key catalyst, finishing with 54 goals and 20 assists, as her team made the Div. 3 title game. A member of the National Honor Society and the former Vice President of her class, McDonald will attend Holy Cross.

CAILIN MORRISSEY CONCORD-CARLISLE

The USA Lacrosse All-American and Dual County League All-Star helped Concord-Carlisle reach the Div. 1 Round of 16. Thanks to her strong defensive play, the senior was named the winner of the league’s All-Conference Award as well, and the recipient of the Arthur DuLong Award for Female Student Athlete Leader of the Year at CCHS. She will be continuing her lacrosse journey at Williams College.

MADELINE PACKARD HINGHAM

Packard was a US Lacrosse All-American selection in 2023 after recording 77 total points and 73 draw controls for Hingham during a breakout junior season. She eclipsed 100 career points in the process, and helped her group win the Patriot League championship once again this spring by netting five goals in the de facto title bout with Duxbury. She is already verbally committed to play at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

KATIE PETERSON

Peterson turned in 105 total points (65 goals, 40 assists) this spring for Franklin during its path to the Div. 1 semifinals. The senior midfielder also recorded 115 draw controls, and was ultimately named a Hockomock League All-Star for the second time, and a USA Lacrosse All-American. Peterson was named Franklin High School’s Scholar Athlete of the Year, and is a USA Lacrosse Academic All-American with a 4.52 GPA. She was a member of both the Business National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society, and a two-time Hockomock League All-Star for basketball. Peterson is committed to UMass for lacrosse.

CHARLOTTE SPAULDING SCITUATE

Spaulding netted 122 goals and 52 assists, and also tacked on 79 draw controls to go with 71 ground balls. The senior midfielder was selected as the conference’s MVP for the second time and also named an Eastern Mass. First-Team All-Star. Spaulding closes her high school career a three-time Patriot League AllStar, and is committed to playing at Catholic University.

ALEXIS THERMIDOR ACTON-BOXBORO

The junior midfielder buried 51 goals and dished out 37 assists, helping Acton-Boxboro to the Div. 1 Round of 16. She registered 88 draw controls and 42 ground balls as well. Thermidoe was the winner of the President’s Volunteer Service Award each of the previous two years. A Johns Hopkins commit, she also participates with the Mass Elite and American Select club lacrosse programs.

ELLIE THOMAS NEEDHAM

With 183 saves, Thomas was named a 2023 EMGCLA First-Team All-Star. The junior goaltender was a Bay State Conference All-Star, and even recorded 21 ground balls to go with 17 caused turnovers out of the cage. Already elected team captain for 2024, Thomas is committed to playing collegiately at the University of New Hampshire.

ADRYANNA TURNER UPPER CAPE

Turner was selected as the Mayflower Athletic Conference’s Most Valuable Player this spring after scoring 82 goals. The junior already has 140 career goals, the most by any athlete in program history. Turner is also a member of Upper Cape’s soccer and basketball teams, and participates with the Aces club lacrosse team.

ELLIE WALL DUXBURY

The Patriot League All-Star collected 75 goals and 21 assists, and the senior (123 draw controls, 46 caused turnovers) was absolutely vital for the Dragons as they made a run to the Div. 2 Final Four. She was an EMGLCA First-Team All-Star. Wall will continue her lacrosse career at Drexel University.

KATIE WOLIN LINCOLN-SUDBURY

The three-sport athlete was a Dual County League All-Star for lacrosse once again. She registered a team-high 95 points, as well as 46 assists and 66 ground balls. The senior was named an EMGLCA First-Team All-Star, and has also been a league AllStar in both field hockey and indoor track. She was honored with the Robert Chursz DCL Sportsmanship Award 2023 for exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, integrity and commitment to athletics, teammates and community (given to one female athlete at Lincoln-Sudbury). She is committed to Bucknell for lacrosse.
