Senior Megan Smith scored both tallies as No. 5 Case (15-1-1) ousted No. 28 Amesbury 2-0 in the Div. 4 first-round field hockey matchup.

Taylor Valiton and Melissa Caprio each scored for No. 10 Lynnfield, edging No. 23 Ipswich 2-1. … Kaylee Anthony and Michaela Stampfl each scored while the defense posted a shutout, leading 15th-seeded St. John Paul II over No. 18 Tyngsboro 2-0 for the young program’s first state tournament win.

In the Div. 3 first round, Sydney Almeida scored three goals all assisted by Kaelyn Zuber who also had a goal as No. 6 Dartmouth (18-0) bested No. 27 Bishop Stang 6-0. … Mae Buchanan scored a pair of goals to lift No. 22 Hanover (11-6-2) to a 3-1 win over No. 11 Notre Dame (W). … Quinn Jordan finished with a hat trick and an assist to power No. 4 Sandwich (18-0-1) past No. 29 Ashland, 6-0.
