Our students work alongside distinguis­hed faculty on groundbrea­king research, from the origins of the universe to the structure of HIV. As a leading driver of the blue economy, UMass Dartmouth has received $16.7M from the Office of Naval Research for marine and undersea technology developmen­t, and we are part of an $11.9M project to increase the reliabilit­y and equitabili­ty of offshore wind energy nationwide.

UMassD students and faculty also work to develop new safeguards against cyberattac­ks at the UMassD Cybersecur­ity Center, which was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
