Miles Brewster scored 17 points as the host Boston University men’s basketball team (5-8) beat Merrimack, 74-63. Brewster was 6 of 8 shooting, including 3 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 7 from the line for the Terriers. Devon Savage led the Warriors (6-8) in scoring, finishing with 19 points . . . Northeaste­rn men (5-8) trimmed a 13-point deficit down to 3 with 7:04 remaining in regulation, but could not complete the comeback as host Rhode Island (6-7) walked away with an 8271 victory. Joe Pridgen led the way for the Huskies with a season-high 19 points (15 in the first half ) . . . Greg Gordon had 18 points in visiting Iona's 69-60 win against Harvard men. Gordon also had 12 rebounds for the Gaels (6-7). Chisom Okpara led the way for the Crimson (8-4) with 15 points and eight rebounds . . . Matt Cross had 24 points in UMass's 79-66 victory over visiting Siena (2-11). Cross added 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 8 steals for the Minutemen (9-3). Michael Eley finished with 30 points and seven rebounds for the Saints (2-11) . . . Will Richard scored 22 points, Zyon Pullin added 16 points and Florida (10-3) rolled past Quinnipiac (9-4), 97-72, in Gainsville, Fla . . . . Jack Bar netted his first goal of the season in his return to the Harvard lineup, but the Crimson (1-6-3) still fell to Ivy League rival Princeton (6-5-2), 5-2, in men’s hockey . . . Forward Sammy Taber scored two goals and added two assists to lead host Boston College (10-7-2) to a 5-1 win against St. Anselm (10-8-1) in women’s hockey.
