BUEHLER, Dorothy “Dottie”

Passed away peacefully in her home on January 2, 2024 at the age of 91, surrounded by family and prayer. She is survived by her sister Grace Brill; son Donald and wife Carolyn Buehler; her daughter Leanne and husband Todd Parsons; six grandchild­ren; and two great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Harold Buehler; and her son David Buehler.

She was a resident of Aviva Senior Living, and a former resident of Winchester for 48 years. Born in Holyoke, MA, Dorothy graduated from Holyoke Hospital Nursing school in 1953. She met the love of her life, Harold Buehler, at a Westover Air Force Base dance. They were married in 1954 and stayed inseparabl­e for 68 years. She supported her husband and their growing family as he served in the Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Winchester, where they owned and operated several McDonalds.

Dorothy and Harold loved hosting people for Sunday family dinner, and created a home where all were welcome. She was a dedicated member of her church, Grace Chapel, for over 40 years. Her strong faith in the Lord defined her, and was felt by all those she met. She was also a member of the Mayflower Society. Her favorite place in the world was Quonnie, RI, where she vacationed with her family every summer.

Dorothy was known for her love of nature, birds and trees, along with desserts and sweet treats. She will be remembered as one of the most positive people her loved ones have ever met, a love she shared with everyone she knew. There was no end to her kindness, celebratio­n and love for life, family, and the world around her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 12th, at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Rd. in Lexington at

11am. A Visitation Hour will begin at 10am. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. There will be a reception following the Burial at Cafe Escadrille in Burlington.
