102, of Peabody and Lynn, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Erminio is survived by his daughter Cindy Ackerman and her husband, Thomas Ackerman of Lynnfield, MA; his sons, David Calderan and his wife, Jeanne Calderan of Dunstable, MA and Mark Calderan and his wife, Mary Calderan of Mason, NH; his precious grandchild­ren, Matthew Ackerman and his wife, Ashley Ackerman of Lynnfield, MA, Kate Crawford and her husband, Reed Crawford of San Diego, CA, Kara Cohen and her husband, Andrew

Cohen of Lynnfield, MA, Joseph Calderan and his wife, Lauren Calderan of Shrewsbury, MA, Cristina Bronder and her husband, Paul Bronder of Mason, NH, Paul Calderan and his wife, Brielle Calderan of Woburn, MA, Nicholas Calderan and his fiancée, Nicole Beauregard of Wilmington, MA, Daniel Calderan of Malden, MA; and his great-grandchild­ren, Logan Cohen, Jack Cohen, Gemma Bronder, Will Ackerman and Kyrie Crawford.

He is survived by his sister Virginia Donnelly of Lynn, MA; and his brother, Tony Calderan of Lynn, MA and a large extended family.

Erminio was predecease­d by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Margaret (Puopolo) Calderan; his brothers, Armand Calderan of Boxford, Bruno Calderan of Danvers; and his sisters, Mary Considine of Boscowan, NH and Antoinette Donovan of Danvers, MA.

Erminio emigrated to the United States with his family in 1931 at the age of 10 years old and settled in Swampscott, MA. He worked at the former Lynn Sand and Stone in Swampscott as a master mechanic for 49 years.

During World War II, Erminio served with distinctio­n on the battlefiel­ds of Europe.

As a paratroope­r in the famed 101 Airborne Division, he fought on D-Day, in Holland and the Battle of the Bulge where he earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Erminio’s greatest joy was being with friends and family. He was never happier than when surrounded by his children, grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children.

Visiting Hours: Visiting Hours will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 10:00AM - 12:00PM at the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), LYNN, MA, followed by Interment at Swampscott Cemetery in Swampscott, MA.
