DRISCOLL, Alice M. McGinley

-

It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Alice M. Driscoll (McGinley) on January 11th, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dorchester and raised in Somerville, Alice was the second of six children born to Marie Cahill and Richard McGinley, of Dorchester.

A dedicated career at the Somerville courthouse, spanning 20 years, defined Alice’s professional life. Yet, her true passion lay in the delight of family and friendship. Her role as a sister, mother, aunt, friend, and Nana was one of unwavering love and support.

Alice, a longtime resident of Medford, and more recently, Winchester, leaves behind her devoted partner of 40 years, Vincent “Corky” Creedon; her son, Brendan and his wife Heidi; her son Barry; and her cherished grandchildren, John, Jamie, and Emma. Alice is also remembered fondly by her sisters, Cathy Irving, Mary Brady, Ellen Scibilia, and their respective families. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anne and Kathleen.

Alice found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life — sharing stories of her Irish roots, dancing to her favorite music, enjoying summer weekends on Cape Cod, spending evenings watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and enjoying a slice of her favorite lemon meringue pie.

Her spirit was a gift to all fortunate enough to know her, and her personality was one that lit up every room she entered. In her final days, Alice continued to uplift those around her and found solace in being surrounded by those she held closest to her heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Tuesday, January 16th, from 4-7pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Chestnut St., ARLINGTON. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, High St., Medford, on Wednesday, January 17th, at 10am. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, Harvard St., Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s in honor of Alice. May her memory live on in the hearts of those she touched, and may she rest in eternal peace.
