ATHLETES OF THE YEAR Paul Bergeron

Division 1: Westford

The Stanford-bound senior repeated as the Division 1 champion in a dominant 19-second victory (15:06), and also won the Division 1B title (15:38.4). He placed third at Foot Locker regionals (15:01.9), and seventh at nationals (15:25.3).

Isaac Gross

Division 2: Marblehead

Gross saved his best for the end of his senior campaign, setting a personal best in his victory at the Division 2B title race (15:35.7). He placed second at Division 2 AllStates (16:04.5) and earned Northeaste­rn Conference MVP honors.

Devin Moreau

Division 3: Greater Lowell

The UMass Lowell commit won the Frank Kelley Invitation­al (15:27.7), Bay State Invitation­al (15:32.7), and Twilight Invitation­al’s small school race (15:04.9). He also won the Division 3A title, and was second at D3 All-States (15:46.2).

ALL-SCHOLASTIC­S Kailas Ciatto

Brookline, senior

The two-time All-Scholastic helped anchor the Division 1 state champions, notching an eighth-place finish at All-States (15:53.7). The senior was fourth in the Twilight Invitation­al’s large school race, and second at the Bay State Invite.

Stephen Goehringer

Wellesley, senior

Goehringer climbed into the state’s upper echelon as a senior, finishing third in the Division 1B title race (16:10.0) and 12th at Division 1 All-States (16:00.4). He set his personal best in a runner-up effort at the Bay State meet (15:58.0).

Jack Graffeo

Westford, junior

The junior earns his second AllScholas­tic honor behind a thirdplace finish at Division 1 All-States (15:31.5) and a dominant 29-second win in the Twilight Invitation­al’s large school race (14:57.7). He was 30th at Foot Locker Nationals.

Paulino Guevara Mateo

Cambridge, junior

The junior establishe­d himself early with a second-place effort at the Frank Kelley Invitation­al (15:41.6). He placed fifth at the Division 1A meet (16:00.1), sixth at Division 1 All-States (15:47.6), and 19th at Foot Locker Regionals (15:56.2).

Ben Kasen

Brookline, senior

The senior’s seventh-place finish (15:52.48) at Division 1 All-States led Brookline to its second-straight state title. He also finished sixth in the Bowdoin Park Classic (16:17.0) in New York. He will run at Amherst College.

Chris Larnard

BC High, senior

The Penn-bound senior notched convincing victories at the Catholic Conference championsh­ip (15:39.4) and Division 1A meet , before finishing second at Division 1 All-States (15:25.3). He placed 24th at Foot Locker Regionals.

Ryan Leslie

Billerica, senior

The two-time Globe All-Scholastic earned Merrimack Valley MVP honors, claiming the Division 1C title and placing 15th at D1 AllStates (16:05.9). He finished 22nd (16:00.0) at Foot Locker Regionals, and will run at Northeaste­rn.

Eli Merritt

Wellesley, senior

The senior rolled to a sixth-place finish at the Division 1B meet (16:28.8) and was 11th at Division 1 All-States (15:59.6). He also posted a 3-0 record in dual meets and finished fourth at the Bay State championsh­ip (16:00.7).

Sean Moore

Danvers, senior

After beginning his career near the bottom of the Falcons’ roster, Moore rose to become his team’s top runner as a senior, peaking with a fourth-place finish at Division 2 All-States (16:10.90), leading Danvers to its first state title.

Patrick Noonan

Lexington, freshman

Noonan was among the state’s top freshmen, winning three dual meets before finishing 14th at Division 1 All-States (16:05.2) and sixth at the Division 1A meet. He was also third at the USATF National Junior Olympic meet (16:24.9).

Joey Ryan

Lexington, senior

The Holy Cross-bound senior placed fourth at the Division 1A meet (15:59.1), 10th at Division 1 All-States (15:56.1), and 16th at Foot Locker Regionals (15:51.6). He set a school record (15:07.1) at the Middlesex championsh­ip.

Ilan Sherman-Kadish

Newton South, senior Sherman-Kadish led Newton South’s best season in recent memory, placing fifth at Division 1 AllStates (15:46.46) in the team’s runner-up finish. He placed second at the Division 1A meet (15:45.7), and was 11th at Nike Regionals.

Ethan Sholk

Lincoln-Sudbury, junior

Sholk broke out early in his junior season, setting a personal best in an 11th-place effort at the Ocean State Invitation­al (15:48.7). He finished taking 16th at Division 1 AllStates (16:07.1) and 25th at Foot Locker Regionals (16:01.1).

Pablo Tejedor Meyers

Brookline, senior

The senior placed ninth at Division 1 All-States (15:55.0) and was second at the Twilight Invitation­al (15:26.6). His 25th-place effort (16:33.8) at Nike Regionals was the Warriors’ best. He will attend Claremont McKenna College.

John Wilson

BC High, junior

Wilson took a leap into stardom as a junior, placing fourth at Division 1 All-States (15:38.5) en route to a third-place team finish. He also was third at the Division 1A qualifier and 13th at Foot Locker Regionals (15:41.9).

COACHES OF THE YEAR Mike Glennon

Division 1: Brookline

Brookline had one of its best seasons in Glennon’s 27 years, steamrolli­ng to an unbeaten regular season and its second-straight Division 1 title, recording the lowest team score at All-States (54 points) since Glennon’s 2007 Warriors.

Jeff Bartlett

Division 2: Danvers

In his 10th year with the program and fifth year as head coach, Bartlett led Danvers to its first boys’ state title, winning Division 2 AllStates with 92 points. The Falcons also ran away with the Division 2B title by 24 points.

Matthew Murphy

Division 3: Greater Lowell

The fifth-year coach helped lead the Gryphons to a runner-up finish at the Division 3A meet and a fourth-place finish at Division 3 All-States. Greater Lowell also placed fourth at the Twilight Invitation­al’s small-school meet.
