A cherished member of the East Boston community, formerly of Brookline, passed away on April 9, 2024. Born on August 4, 1923, in Boston, Marion was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Cocenza) Femia. Marion’s life was defined by her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She was the loving mother of John and his wife, Mary-Ellen and Zani Nicolopoul­os of Melrose. Marion was also a dear sister to the late Mary “Dolly” Hitchcock, Joseph Femia, Nicholas Femia and Charles “Chickie” Femia. Her legacy lives on through the many nieces and nephews she leaves behind, each of whom was touched by her kindness and generosity. Family and friends will honor Marion’s life by Gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, EAST BOSTON, on Tuesday, April 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday, morning, at 8:30, before leaving in Procession to St. Joseph - St. Lazarus Parish, East Boston, for a Funeral Mass, Celebratin­g her Life, at 10:00 A.M. Services will conclude with Marion being Laid to Rest at Winthrop Cemetery, Cross Street, Winthrop. Marion was a lifelong parishione­r of St. Lazarus Parish in East Boston and was a longtime employee of the Logan Airport Hilton, where she developed friendship­s with colleagues and guests alike. Marion’s memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a warm, funloving, compassion­ate person, with an unrivaled zest for life.
