Nick Austin
Norwell, senior
Austin won the 100 breaststroke at the Div. 2 state meet and set a school record (57.24) in winning the South Sectional. He was also third at states and second at sectionals in the 200 IM. He will swim at Bryant University.
Nicholas Cavic
Somerset Berkley, junior Competing for the Seekonk co-op, the Somerset Berkley junior won the 200 (1:40.86) and 500 free (4:38.19) at the D2 meet, a week after taking the top spot in the 200 IM and 100 free at South Sectionals. He owns six program records.
Matthew Church
St. John’s Prep, junior
Church finished second in the 200 (1:44.99) and 500 free (4:44.25) in personal best times at the Div. 1 state meet, contributing a teamhigh 34 points as St. John’s won the team title. The junior swims club for Commonwealth Current.
Ryan Connors
Attleboro, senior
Connors played a big role in the Blue Bombardiers winning their first sectional title by tying for first in the butterfly and anchoring the winning 200 and 400 free relays. The Hockomock League All-Star also won the Div. 1 butterfly (51.05).
Jack DeMello
Cohasset, senior
One of the state’s top sprinters, the senior won the 50 free in 21.53 and placed second in the 100 in 47.21 at the Div. 2 state meet and was a South Shore All-Star. At South Sectionals, he was third in the 100 free. He will swim at Maine.
Nate Derby
Plymouth North, senior
Derby was the Div. 1 state champion in the 100 breaststroke in 57.89 and finished second in the 200 IM. The three-year captain leaves with six individual school records. Derby will swim at UMass Amherst and study engineering.
Thomas Eppich
Lincoln-Sudbury, senior
Eppich smashed a 38-year-old school record in the 500 free (4:38.93) during the regular season and won the event at the DCL championship and North Sectionals. The RIT-bound senior also won the 200 IM at the North Sectional.
Aiden Gouldson
Westford, sophomore
The sophomore pulled a double at the Div. 1 state meet, winning both the 100 (47.70) and 200 freestyles (1:43.70) and was a North Sectional champion in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke. He is also a black belt in taekwondo.
Evan Hoaglund
Weston, senior
Hoaglund won the 100 free at the Div. 2 state meet and North Sectional. He is the second Weston swimmer to break a minute in each stroke. Hoaglund, a 10-time state champion, will swim for Tampa, the Div. 2 national champions.
Zachary Lee
Brookline, junior
Lee set a school record with a score of 522.80 for 11 dives when he finished second in the Div. 1 state meet. He was also second at South Sectionals. During the offseason, Lee competes for the Infinite Dive Club.
Dawson Milligan
Sandwich, senior
The senior was the runner-up in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke at the Div. 2 meet and won the South Sectional 100 backstroke. Milligan set eight school records this year and was the South Shore League MVP.
David Sapozhnikov
Medfield, junior
He set the 100 butterfly school record in winning the Div. 2 state title in 50.61. He tied for first in the same event at South Sectionals. Sapozhnikov is also part of the 200 free relay that claimed a school record.
