NWGA Regional Library system now offers eBooks
Northwest Georgia Regional Library System has expanded its services with eBooks available to enjoy from the library’s website. Library cardholders can borrow popular digital media anytime, anywhere by visiting ngrls.lib.overdrive.com or through the links available on www.ngrl.org and on its Facebook pages.
Users may browse the library’s website, borrow titles with a valid library card, and enjoy on all major computers and devices, including iPhone, iPad, Nook, Android phones and tablets, and Kindle. EBooks can be read immediately on any device with an internet browser and all titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period.
“We are really excited to offer this service,” Nyala Edwards, Interim Manager of CalhounGordon County Library, said. “We have created collections for young adult readers, adults, and even a few Spanish language materials. For the kids, we have bought a subscription for Disney books, which contains over five hundred Disney titles. It is an exciting addition to our collection.”
This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for users with a Northwest Georgia Regional Library System library card. The Northwest Georgia Regional Library System consists of CalhounGordon County Library, Chatsworth-MurrayCounty Library, and DaltonWhitfield County Library. To use the eBooks for this system, you must have a card issued by this system. Ask the circulation desk staff at your library what you need to obtain a card for our system if you have recently transferred your account.
The Calhoun-Gordon County Library will be hosting a “Getting to know eBooks” tutorial on Wednesday, May 7, at 4 p.m. Bring in your tablet, eReader or computer and learn how to use the overdrive service from trained staff. Handouts will be available at each library with more information about how to set up your device and account.
