Readith West

Readith Pruitt West, 75, of Tucker, and formerly of Calhoun, passed away Friday, April 18, in Atlanta.

Readith was born September 23, 1938, daughter of the late Doyle and Jewell West Pruitt. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Pruitt West.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph West, three children, Heinz West, Andy West and Connie West, all of Tucker; five grandchild­ren, Todd, Seth, Karlie, Clay and Tyler West.

A service to celebrate the life of Readith Pruitt West will be conducted Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Chandler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winship Cancer Institute, 1365 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30322.

Clarence Holder

Clarence Jack Holder, 68, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014. Holder was born in Dalton on September 14, 1945; son of the late Benjamin Lee Holder and Roxie Earlene Thomas Holder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Janelle Holder and Francis Collins, of Calhoun; four brothers, Guy Holder, of Calhoun, Mariew Holder, of Calhoun, Daniel Holder, of Augusta, and Oscar Holder, of Leighton, Alabama.

Holder was a veteran who served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era.

He leaves behind his wife Marilyn Kay Chastain Holder, to who he was married to for 45-years; two sons, Lee Holder and David Holder, both of Calhoun; two daughters, Mary Collins and her husband Roger, of Adairsvill­e, and Tammy Holder, of Calhoun; two sisters, Margie Trambell, of McDonough, and Jean Harris, of Dalton; nine grandchild­ren, Nikki and Kelly Nesbitt, Charlene and Dennis Phillips, Roger Collins III, Elizabeth Collins, David Holder, Chris Holder and Samuel Holder; five great-grandchild­ren, Collen Phillips, Eliah Phillips, Maryann Lingerfelt, Shaun Nesbitt and Andrew Messey. Twenty nieces and nephews also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Clarence Jack Holder will start at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
