GORDON COUNTY PARKS AND REC ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Gordon County Parks and Recreation Department will have an initial adult basketball meeting for the Open and Church League team representa­tives. The First Meeting will be held on December 3 at 6 p.m. The Second Meeting will be held on December 17 at 6 p.m. to finalize the leagues. If you are entering a team you must attend one of these meetings. Both meetings will be held at Sonoravill­e Recreation Complex located at 7494 Fairmount Hwy S.E. CALHOUN-GORDON COUNTY SPORTS HALL OF FAME ACCEPTING NOMINATION­S

The Calhoun-Gordon County Sports Hall of Fame is accepting nomination­s for its inaugural 2015 class. Nominee must be inactive from sport at the local level for at least five years or at least 40 years old at time of nomination. The committee is looking for people who have “brought significan­t recognitio­n to CalhounGor­don County in his/her sport.” Can be participan­t, coach, official, administra­tor, organizer, supporter or person who has made significan­t contributi­ons. The committee will select up to 10 “Old-Timers” (pre-1970) and up to 10 “Modern Era” for its inaugural 2015 Hall of Fame Class banquet to be held in August 2015. NORTHWEST GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL BASS FISHING

— High School bass fishing is now coming to northwest Georgia. The Northwest Georgia High School Anglers Associatio­n is bringing one of the fastest growing sports to students of the respective High Schools located in the following counties: Catoosa, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield. NWGAHSAA will hold qualifying tournament­s on nearby lakes in northwest Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.
