Holiday Bridge Party at the Harris Arts Center

- Staff Reports

“Tricks, Trumps & Tinsel”, a Holiday Bridge Party, is scheduled at the Harris Arts Center for at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015.

Two HAC Board members, Claudine Smith and Carol Shanahan, bridge players themselves, enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of playing with friends. Meeting at different venues adds to the fun, so the ladies decided to host a bridge party fundraiser at the arts center.

November 2 is the opening day of Festival of Trees & Mistletoe Market. Bridge Party attendees will have the opportunity to tour the galleries, which are transformed into a winter wonderland of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and centerpieces, offered for silent auction. The Mistletoe Market features one-of-a-kind gifts handcrafted by regional artists.

Not only will guests play their hands in a festive setting, but will also be treated to dessert and a beverage. Tickets are $15 per person and proceeds will benefit general operations.

The Harris Arts Center is home to art galleries and the Roland Hayes Museum, where admission is always free. Calhoun Little Theater, Calhoun Community Chorus and the Music Guild sponsor many plays, concerts and events throughout the year. Yoga and adult clay classes are on going; the arts center contracts with private teachers to offer piano, violin, banjo and children’s drama classes. The Art Market shop offers a year round venue for local artists to sell their work.

Interested parties may call 706 629-2599 to reserve their table of four by October 28.
