It's a Wonderful Life to be shown at the GEM Theatre on Sunday, Nov 22 at 7 p.m. The GEM is pleased to present the 1946 classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” as the second feature in our celebration of Calhoun’s Open House. (Stay tuned for the announcement of a children’s classic film earlier in the day.) The film stars Jimmy Stewart as a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman, George Bailey. Henry Travers is the angel, Clarence, who shows George what life would have been like without his existence. Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore also star in this feel-good film that is the perfect start to your Christmas season. Our thanks to Downtown Calhoun for sponsoring the Open House movies. Their generosity allows the GEM to offer these two classics free of charge. Although free, tickets are required and may be reserved at the Box Office, by phone or online beginning Nov. 3.
