Decorate for fall without breaking your budget

- By Brandi Owczarz

A fall home makeover doesn’t have to be expensive or be difficult to pull off to make an impact. Quick and easy ideas can freshen up your home with seasonal appeal without breaking your budget.

Seasonal décor updates could be something as simple as a pop of color.

Brightly colored mums in fall colors in a vase on a table are an easy way to bring the season inside without going over budget.

Other places to add pops of color throughout your home is in your kitchen and bathroom and by switching out towels to popular fall colors, like orange, purple, brown and green. Seasonal candles in bright colors can also be purchased in fragrances that are popular in the fall, like pumpkin spice, apple cider and fall leaves.

Another easy way to bring the season into your décor is by switching out photography throughout the home with seasonally appropriate photos, such as Halloween parties and pumpkin patch visits.

Curtains are an inexpensive way to freshen up a home for the season. Using different textures in bright colors can change the look and is a great way to customize a space to better fit the mood of the season.

Adding a wreath or flower arrangement to your fireplace, in orange or red, will also freshen up your home for the season. A wreath can also be added to a bare wall for a festive touch. On mantles, adding candles, leaves and ceramic pumpkins can also spruce up a room.

Finally, using the popular fruits and vegetables of the season, such as pumpkins, Indian corn, squash and gourds, are also popular ways to add decoration to your home. These can be used inside on tables, counters and buffets, or outside on porches and stoops.

Fall can be a wonderful time of year to use an array of color and texture for your home decorating. A few simple ideas can go a long way to add a festive feel to your home.
