Several former local football stars have moved on to the next level where they are making an impact in college football. More than 20 former players from Calhoun, Gordon Central and Sonoravill­e combined appear on college rosters, and many of them saw action this past weekend in their teams’ games.

Here’s a roundup of the former local players who appeared in the box score and how they did last week:

NIAGEL CURTIS Reinhardt, Gordon Central

Curtis, a senior running back, had 90 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 55-27 win over Faulkner to keep Reinhardt undefeated for the season.

TAYLOR LAMB Appalachia­n State, Calhoun

Lamb had a big day in the Mountainee­rs’ 37-3 win over Georgia State at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, passing for 314 yards on 21-of-27 throws with three touchdowns and one intercepti­on. The redshirt-sophomore quarterbac­k also ran for 53 yards on four attempts.

GABE FREEMAN West Georgia, Calhoun

Freeman, a redshirt-junior, started at middle linebacker and had a big day defensivel­y in the Wolves’ 49-28 win over Valdosta State on Saturday in Carrollton. He finished with eight total tackles (five solo, three assists) and also had an intercepti­on.

ADAM GRIFFITH Alabama, Calhoun

Freeman, a redshirt-junior kicker, made 2-of-4 field goal attempts on Saturday in the Crimson Tide’s 27-14 win at home over Arkansas. He converted from 24 and 35 yards along with making all three of his extra-point attempts and averaging 59.5 yards on kickoffs with three touchbacks.

NOAH HENSON Shorter, Sonoravill­e

Henson, a senior offensive lineman, started at right tackle in the Hawks’ 38-17 loss to Delta State at home on Saturday. He recovered a fumble in the game.

MARCUS (MJ) REYNOLDS Lane College, Gordon Central

Reynolds, a sophomore quarterbac­k, threw for 163 yards and a touchdown on 12of-18 passing in the Dragons’ 23-19 win over Benedict College in the Augusta Classic on Saturday. He had an equally big day on the ground, running for 132 yards on 14 attempts with a touchdown.

SEBASTIAN WILLER Georgia State, Calhoun

Willer, a redshirt-sophomore offensive lineman, started at left tackle in the Panters’ 37-3 loss to Appalachia­n State at home on Saturday.

DUSTYN HARRIS LaGrange, Calhoun

Harris, a freshman defensive lineman, had two solo tackles in the Panthers’ 27-25 win over Greensboro at home.

TRENT FRIX Georgia, Calhoun

Frix, a junior long snapper, saw action on special teams in the Bulldogs’ 38-31 loss at Tennessee on Saturday.

CLAY JOHNSON Georgia, Calhoun

Johnson, a redshirt-junior receiver, participat­ed but didn’t record any stats in the Bulldogs’ 38-31 loss at Tennessee on Saturday.

LUKE GREEN Shorter, Calhoun

Green, a junior offensive lineman, saw reserve action in the Hawks’ 38-17 loss to Delta State at home on Saturday.

BRETT MOSS Birmingham-Southern, Calhoun

Moss, a sophomore receiver, participat­ed but didn’t record any stats in the Panthers’ 21-16 loss at Hendrix on Saturday.

DJ PRATHER Chattanoog­a, Gordon Central

Prather, a redshirt-sophomore defensive lineman, participat­ed but didn’t record any stats in the Mocs’ 31-13 loss over Furman on Saturday.

AUSTIN BYRD Kennesaw State, Calhoun

Moss, a redshirt-freshman defensive lineman, participat­ed but didn’t record any stats in the Owls’ 56-17 win ove Point on Saturday.

DREW McCRACKEN Kennesaw State, Calhoun

McCracken, a freshman long snapper, participat­ed but didn’t record any stats in the Owls’ 56-17 win ove Point on Saturday.
