Lana Greeson

Lana Arva Fuquea Greeson, age 70 of the Sonoravill­e Community, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Gordon Hospital.

Lana was born on April 28, 1946 in Gordon County to the late Ramond Sharpe Fuquea and Floy Beatrice Denny Fuquea. She was a life-long member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Fuquea and Kenneth Fuquea; and sister, Vicki Fuquea Hicks.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jan Greeson; son, Richard Greeson; daughter, Connie Greeson all of the Sonoravill­e Community; brother, Gary Fuquea of the Sonoravill­e Community; five sisters, Donna Fuquea Couch of the Sonoravill­e Community, Joan Fuquea Roach of Calhoun, Janet Fuquea Thomason of Pine Chapel, Bettye Fuquea Butler of Calhoun, and Melinda Parker of the Sonoravill­e Community; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to thank the ICU nurses of Gordon Hospital, Dr. Parrott, Dr. Pennel, Dr. Treyier, Dr. Kulkarni, and Dr. Chin for their care.

Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, May 12 at 2 p. m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Greg Burgner officiatin­g. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Heath Thomason, Chance Hicks, Michael Roach, Trent Thomason, Zevan Gilbert, Mark Gilbert, Phillip Gilbert, and Mitch Butler serving as pallbearer­s. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Wayne Greeson, Steve Greeson, David Greeson, Kent Greeson, Alex Greeson, Bruce Blalock, Nick Blalock, John Lewis, Scott Ponder, Kenny Fuquea, Kevin Couch, Eddie Fair, Jr.

Linda Ross

Linda M. “Nana” Ross, age 72, of Resaca, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her residence.

Linda was born on June 14, 1943 in Trion to the late Elena Owens Dixon. She loved to dance, spending time with her grandchild­ren and family, playing Canasta, loved birds and going to Disney World. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Calvin Dunlap, Sr. and Robert Owens; sister, Effie Cox; special great- niece, Heather Blackmon; and sister- in- law, Barbara Dunlap.

She is survived by her son, Jack Dewayne Ross and his wife, Jennifer, of Calhoun; daughter, Patsy Howard Delph and her husband, Dean, of Calhoun; three grandchild­ren, Jessica Ross Alcorn and her husband, Timothy, of Calhoun, Jeremy Dwayne Ross and his wife, Julie, of Calhoun, and Dakota Ryan Delph of Calhoun; and her beloved pet and companion, Penny.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 14 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Owens and Reverend Ken Westmorela­nd officiatin­g. Entombment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Jeremy Dewayne Ross, Dakota Ryan Delph, Timothy Allen Alcorn, Brandon Scoggins, Mike Scoggins, and Shawn Broom. Honorary Pallbearer­s will be the employees of Horizon, Mohawk Carpet and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 13 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
