Week of May 8

Mount Zion Youth will have a yard sale (outside and inside the fellowship building) on Saturday, May 14 beginning at 8 a.m. Proceeds will go to the youth projects fund. Items included will be book shelves, lots of books, vacuum cleaners, Christmas trees, a lot of Christmas lights, some shoes and clothing, and lots more. The Church is located on Mt. Zion Road just off Highway 136 East of Resaca. If you do not like their prices, just name your own. Mark your calendars for May 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 3882 Red Bud Road, will have Outdoor Family Movie Night on Saturday, May 14. We will be showing “Woodlawn.” Gates open at 6 p.m., movie will start at dusk. $2.00 per person donation. We will also have concession­s. All proceeds will go towards the Closet of Hope.

God's Closet, a FREE clothing ministry, is having a Yard Sale to fundraise for new undergarme­nts and toiletries for our Children beneficiar­ies. Yard Sale opens on Friday, May 13, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Sunday, May 15, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Calhoun SDA Church, 1411 Rome Rd. SW on Hwy. 53, across from Fairground­s. Accepting donations of yard sale items on site Thursday, May 12, from 5 - 8 p.m.

Week of May 15

On Sunday, May 15, Friendship Baptist Church, located on West Line Street in Calhoun, will celebrate Youth Day beginning at 3 p.m. The 2016 graduates will be celebrated and all youth will be honored. Elder Leroy S. Mobley, Jr., formerly of Calhoun, will lead the service.

Revival at Boone Ford Baptist Church will be held from Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m. each night. Isaac Johns will be preaching and special singing nightly.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 3882 Red Bud Road, will have their Closet of Hope open on Saturday, May 21 from 9 – 11 a.m. Free Hot Breakfast from 9 – 10:30 a.m.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will host their annual Homecoming on Sunday, May 15. Service begins at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Lamar Bearden guest speaking and special music by Faye Bentley. Lunch will fol- low in Fellowship Hall. Pastor David Peeler and the church family invite everyone to join in a time of worship and fellowship.

Crusin' 2016 Car Show Fundraiser will be held at Tom B David Airport located at 1957 US HWY 41 in Calhoun on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. All proceeds will sponsor Redeemed Youth Group for Collide Youth Conference 2016. Preregistr­ation: $15.00, at the Gate: $20.00. Open to all makes and models. 9 a.m.: Registrati­on begins; 11 a.m.: Judging and voting begins; 1:30 p.m. awards, trophies and door prizes presented. Bible Church of Jesus will hold Homecoming 2016 on Monday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. Bible Church of Jesus would like to invite everyone to come out and help us celebrate our annual homecoming.
