Gordon County 4-H SAFE Shooting Sports Teams compete at State

To qualify for state, 7th and 8th graders must shoot 16 out of 25 targets and high schoolers must shoot 20 out of 25 of the targets. Six of the Gordon County 4-H team members qualified for state competitio­n. These six 4-H’ers: Robbie Arnold, Joshua Collis, Will Hobberchal­k, and Monte Moraitakis, Hunter Payne, and Cody Schild attended state competitio­n on May 7 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, with junior team member Joshua Collis shooting an individual score of 23, and the five senior team members shooting a combine score of 86 out of 100. The first Saturday of the annual 4- H Rabies clinic brought out record numbers with over 325 dogs and cats getting vaccinated. In addition to Rabies shots, other vaccines were available at discounted prices as well as deworming, nail trimming and heartworm test certificat­es. If you missed the May 7 clinic, you have a chance to get your animals vaccinated this Saturday, May 14 on the west side of the county route. The locations are as follows: 8 - 9: 30 a. m. at W. L.
