Top 10 finalists chosen for Calhoun’s Got Talent

Seventeen talented contestant­s entertaine­d a packed house at the Harris Arts Center on Saturday, July 29. Ten contestant­s receiving the highest number of votes from both the audience and a panel of judges will compete again at the finale on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7 p. m.

The winning contestant­s are: Heather Mayfield- Adcock, Aaron Blake, Hunter Green, Bri Hall, Darby Jones, Ryleigh Ledford, Adrian Lyles, Mercedes McBride, Holly Thomas and Brianna Towers.

“I am very grateful to all of our performers who give so generously of their time and talent in support of the Arts Center; also to our audience members and sponsors who make this fundraiser so successful for us. The talent is amazing!” said Joshua Lawrence, talent show director.

Two finalists will each receive a $ 750 prize, either the People’s Choice Award or the Judges’ Award, on Saturday, Aug. 5. Calhoun’s Got Talent is generously sponsored by M& S Logistics, NorthSide Bank, Billie Jean Erwin, Tommy White’s Paint & Body Shop, House Office Products, Teresa Bailey and Kyle and Vivian Smith.

This diverse cast of 10, featuring vocalists, pianists, a guitarist, violinist and ukulele player, will perform during the first half of the show. Audience and judges’ votes will be tabulated during the second half of the show, at which time, the audience will be treated to a roster of stellar guest performers.

Vocalist and instrument­alist Madison Hunt; first place winner Calhoun’s Got Talent 2013, Michael Zapp; pianist Joseph Taylor; and Care Pastor at Rock Bridge Community Church, vocalist and instrument­alist, Stephen Hare, are a few of the special guest performers. Contestant­s will take the stage once again for a group number with director Josh Lawrence.

Patrons will not want to miss the opportunit­y to vote for their favorite performers and to see what songs the contestant­s have chosen for their “show- stopper” selections.
