4th annual Cross County Prayer Event tonight

- By Brandi Owczarz

Tonight, the 4th annual Cross County Prayer Event will be held at 7 p. m., Aug. 2, 2017.

Gordon County residents and churches are encouraged to participate in the local prayer event Wednesday night outside local churches, schools and homes.

“Our desire is for all churches to unite together and pray for our children as they go back to school,” said event organizer Tundra Taylor. “We would love to see every street in Gordon County and all the surrounding counties prayed over.”

With numerous churches spread throughout the community, Taylor plans to line the streets with prayers. She wants people to see that regardless of denomination, everyone can come together in prayer. She hopes that people driving by will see our community united for children, teens and the country.

“We appreciate everyone that has handed out the flyers and posted on Facebook to spread the word about this event,” said Taylor. “My home church, Ranger Baptist, would love for anyone who doesn’t have a home church to come join us in prayer.”

Taylor also asks the public that participates in the event to post about it on social media afterwards. “If possible, after your group prays, post it on Facebook or Instagram,” said Taylor. “Let’s show our children how many people are lifting them up in prayer, so that they will all have a safe and great school year.”
