The Future Heroes Scholarship Program has been established by Owen Security Solutions to provide scholarships to the children of first responders to attend the college of their choice. The $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a student in North Georgia who has demonstrated scholastic achievement, civic engagement and leadership in his or her community. 2018 featuring Bluegrass groups Highway 411 and Barbwire & Roses. A home-cooked meal will be served at 5 p.m. for $6 per plate, which includes a drink and dessert. Music will begin at 6 p.m. Cakewalks and auction to follow. Blood Drive will be held from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Gordon Hospital and the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition are sponsoring a LET’S TALK MOTHER/DAUGHTER DINNER at Gordon Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 5 – 7:00 p.m. This is a special event to celebrate and educated mothers/guardians and their daughters about taking care of their health.
