The group will meet for coffee and donuts at 9 a.m., followed by a business session and program at 9:30 a.m. Guests are welcome, according to Tom Beavers, commandant. Rens, a resident of Ranger, Ga., retired from the Marine Corps with the rank of lieutenant colonel after commanding a Marine C-130 squadron in the Gulf War. He then joined Lockheed as chief test pilot for the C-130J Super Hercules that was first deployed to the Corps in 1998. Prior to retirement from the Marietta aircraft manufactur­er, Rens worked on the early developmen­t of the F-35 Lightning II, a stealth multirole fighter developed with versions for the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps.

Lunch discussion will include various wildlife related topics and involve a 2-mile hike with Gregory and do a walking tour of area discussing a wide variety of land management topics including waterfowl management, forest management of wildlife, prescribed burning and much more.
