Winner’s Club thanks community for a successful Christmas

- Staff reports

The Winner’s Club would like to thank all those who contributed to providing the member’s at the Winner’s Club with a very special Christmas.

Thanks to the Sheriff’s Auxiliary, North Georgia EMC members in the Operation Round Up program, Office Depot, Belmont Stitching for Missions, the Secret Santa sponsors and the greater Gordon County and Cal- houn communities. Every child with the Club received gifts provided by the community and “received joy and love this Christmas.”

Linda Beasenburg, the administrative coordinator at the Club, said the staff, volunteers and children feel really blessed.

“We got enough school supplies through the Office Depot supply drive to last our children through the end of the 2018-2019 academic year, and each school-aged child also received a backpack,” Beasenburg said. “Each donation made a big difference.”

The Club’s Christmas party in early December was a huge hit, with leftover money going towards additional gifts for the children. There were also donated coats, socks, shoes, scarves and backpacks that helped make Christmas a little more special for the Winner’s Club staff, volunteers, children and families.
